Ovulation Induction

Ovulation induction (OI) is applied to women who have ovulation problems.

The ovaries are stimulated with drugs and the couple plans intercourse according to the expected day of ovulation.

In addition to the cases of abnormal ovulation, this treatment is also suggested for: young couples with a short duration of infertility, couples living apart, etc.

Specific drugs are administered depending on the case:

Clomiphene citrate is the drug of choice in women with type II ovulation failure, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
It is also suitable for women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

Gonadotropins are more effective in cases of type I anovulation, according to the WHO. It is also administed in cases of resistance to clomiphene citrate.
